What the word does to the results
Very little, and that surprises people.
The plain version of this search is already answered almost entirely from India — the country accounts for the overwhelming majority of everyone typing it anywhere in the world. Adding the word tells a search engine something it had already assumed.
What it does change is the ordering at the edges: shopping results for hardware sold locally move up, and one or two results aimed at other countries drop away. The three-way mixture at the heart of it — a betting brand, a phone runner, a car part — does not clear up, because the word "india" does not disambiguate anything about what you meant.

What actually changed, and when
The governing instrument since 1 May 2026 is the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, switched on alongside its Rules for that year. Online money games are closed off under it nationally. Three features of it settle nearly every practical question a reader turns up with.
It is national, not state by state. Anything written before that date describing Indian rules as differing from one state to the next is describing a situation that no longer exists. A great deal of writing on this subject predates it and reads as though nothing happened.
It does not turn on skill versus chance. That distinction carried most of the earlier case law and the Act removes it as the hinge. An argument that a particular game is one of skill is no longer the argument it used to be.
It separates three activities. Offering a money game, advertising one, and handling payments for one are treated as three distinct things rather than one. That is why the change was visible to ordinary users in places that have nothing to do with playing — advertising disappeared from some channels, and some payment routes stopped working, before anything else looked different.
Social play and competitive e-sports sit outside it, handled by a central authority. A practice mode stakes nothing and sits outside the Act's subject entirely.

Which of the three things under this name it touches
This is the useful part, and it is short.
The betting brand is the one the Act is about. The phone runner is a children's action game with advertising in it and is not a money game. The car part is a car part.
So the country word, added to a name that means three things, narrows exactly one of them — and it happens to be the one where narrowing matters.

What is deliberately not done here
It will not tell you whether a particular site is operating lawfully. That requires knowing who runs it, from where and under what permission, and on 22 September 2026 the brand's own site would not open from India at all, so not one word it publishes about itself has been read here.

Why the country word is worth noticing at all
Because it tells you something about the person searching rather than about the brand. Somebody adding "india" has already looked at the results once and come away unsure whether they were being shown their own market. That is the same instinct that produces the official-website search and the real-or-fake search, and all three are versions of one request: tell me what I am actually looking at.
That request has a better answer than a country word can give it. It is the sorting, and it starts with which of three unrelated things you meant.
